Sea Scapes
Looking out to sea is something I not only enjoy, but need to do periodically. Its expanse, volume and weight never fail to impress. These factors become obvious to the viewer as its many colours and moods are revealed.
Portraits
Thank goodness for the mirror, for without it I would have spent many days looking at a blank canvas, wondering what to paint.
Tuscany
Many hilltop towns and villages are to be found in this part of Italy, which remains ever popular with holidaying Brits. Vineyards adorn the countryside and many a happy hour or two has been spent painting or drinking the local wine.
Venice
City of dreams, everyone should visit, preferably when young. History seeps out of its buildings and painting opportunities abound.
Mountain Pools
At sunrise the mountain tops are lit up and shine like jewels in the landscape whilst far below, deep pools watch patiently.
Whitchurch
It is only by painting recognizable scenes that an artist can be judged, good or bad, on his or her output. However, if total accuracy is what's required then take a photograph.
Cliffs
Rough seas have eaten away the coastline, especially where cliffs are composed of limestone. This has left inlets and bays of strange shapes, giving this meeting of land and sea a surreal magnetism.
The Band
A series aimed specifically at the greetings card market, fun to look at but even more fun to paint.
